Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since that period of that year.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.
He rescued four early-game chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
